The Gateway to Heaven – My Journey to Truth
That was the day, when I lost hope from everywhere. I just wanted to end my life. It felt like my life was over even before it had started.
But I thought I was finally grown up, I had my professional work, and now I could re-build my world the way I wanted. But… yes, that “BUT”—it always shows up. This one word has taught me so much. It’s like an uninvited teacher. We don’t want to use it, but it comes. And when it does, it demands strength to face it.
As this “BUT” entered my life, I found a gate. It had a board that read, “Gate to Heaven.” I was shocked. In a world where I saw only darkness, was there really a gate to Heaven? I was curious, and I decided to go inside.
There was a brother standing there and said “I will start a learning session with you” and I agreed.
He began “You will need a lot of strength to hear this. Because once you listen, you’ll never be the same. Your whole perspective of the world will change. There are only two things in this world Reel and Reel”
“When you understand what is real and realize that the life you’ve been living is just a reel, an illusion, you’ll be stunned.” And I was stunned actually.
He then asked “Do you want to know the truth? or are you happy in the reel world?”
I stood in the middle, unsure, and I wanted to escape the painful world I knew, but I was also afraid of the truth. As the Bhagavad Gita says, only one who crosses the illusion of Maya can reach the divine. You are seeing the world through your physical body & your eyes.
But when you realize the secret of the inner eye, you begin to see the real world. The catch is once you see it, you can’t unsee it. There’s no going back.
I was scared. He asked me again, “Do you want to be aware of the real world and live a beautiful life? or stay in the old, unreal one?”
I asked him “are you saying that everything I see with my eyes is an illusion?”
He said yes, but it wasn’t just a conversation. It was a transformation. He told me it’s not easy, it takes time and immense courage.
“You have a choice,” he said. “continue your unreal life or face the truth and become the master of your existence.”
He told me to come back the next day, if I was ready. I went home, completely silent, my mind swirling with the questions.
It reminded me of Arjuna’s moment in the battlefield. Lord Krishna had told him “It’s your choice, run from the battle or accept the truth of the universe.”
The next morning, I returned to the same gate “Gate to Heaven”. Like Arjuna, I chose to stand and face the truth.
The brother welcomed me again and asked, “Are you ready?”
“Yes,” I said, a little casually.
“This is not a game,” he warned. “The truth is scary. Accepting it requires strength. Illusion is easy to live in. and most people do. But when you realize the truth, everything changes. You can’t unknow it. The branch you thought was your strongest support, it will vanish.”
Then he said something that shook me, “You are not your body, not a doctor, not a woman, not even the name people call you. You are the energy holding this body like a dress hanging on a hook.”
That very first line shook me, I asked, “Then who am I?”
“You are the soul, the eternal energy. You are not your mind, which changes every second, not your body, which changes day by day, you are the one who never dies.”
I was stunned & speechless.
He continued: “Now you are close to god. He is near to you, because you are the truth. Everything will unfold before you like an open book. Don’t be afraid. Face it with courage. You will not be the same person again.”
He explained further: “Until now, you lived in a cage, thinking you are free. Like a lion in a zoo, with food and a space to roam—but still in captivity.”
Then came the scariest part.
“When the world finds out that you know the truth, they won’t let you live peacefully. Because awakened souls don’t fear. They don’t depend on material things. This scares others.”
“But if you choose to walk this path, you will become very strong and almost divine”
That was hard to accept. He gave me time again.
At home, I looked in the mirror. My first illusion was shattered and I realized I was not this body. It had changed since childhood and would continue to change until one day, it would be gone.
That was the beginning of truth.
The next day, I returned. The brother said, “Today your practice begins. Sit in a calm place and ask yourself: Who am I? Don’t stop until you get the answer.”
I did that. My first illusion was gone, I wasn’t the body. Then I thought maybe I was the mind, but that too changed.
No, I am the soul. The truth. The energy.
The brother welcomed me again, saying, “You are brave. Most people stop here.”
With every session, I went deeper and deeper into my inner world. The happiness I felt wasn’t from the body or the outside world, it came from within. I felt like a star in the sky, glowing with truth.
He told me to get stronger, for tomorrow he would show me a secret truth hidden from the world.
The next day, I started my inner journey again. It was dark. I was scared. I heard voices, pain, trauma, crying. I wanted to open my eyes, but I held on.
The brother said, “This is your own garbage, your thoughts. Just observe them. Don’t be afraid. Let them pass.”
So I did. And the next day, when I returned, he smiled.
“Only 10% come back,” he said.
I went deeper again. This time, I saw a sign: When you see me, you will lose yourself. And only when you lose yourself, you will find me.
I went ahead and saw my true self, pure energy. My aura appeared before me, bright, strong, angelic.
I was stunned, then was afraid thinking “can I handle this? can I sustain this higher state?”
I remembered the Bhagavad Gita, those who realize they are infinity can see the infinite.
More inner journeys followed. I saw colourful energies around me, all representing me. I had so many powers, so much strength I never knew.
Then, one day, I stood before the divine light. It said, “You are near the truth. To see me fully, you must let go of every illusion.”
I realized—every test, every hardship, was taking me closer to God. I no longer feared to face the challenges. I knew the truth, I am not my body, my fears, or my habits.
I am the truth. I am the energy. I am infinite.
I saw the garden of Heaven. Beautiful flowers. Gentle music. It was the song of my soul.
